Archers can prepare for bow season by shooting out of tower stands, on logs, and in turkey blinds while shooting at deer through cornstalks or in-between branches.  Practice your shot for this fall’s gray wolf season or an out of state tag on the elk, caribou, and moose!  Better yet, stalk the prey and determine when you should take a chance at a kill-zone shot.  Throughout the wooded course you’ll notice animals roosted in the trees or on logs, and there will be moving targets to simulate running game.  Try to boost your score by shooting the dreaded iron maiden.  We have string targets and a bear that climbs a tree.  We have a moving string target which allows you to determine when and where to shoot.   The targets are set to replicate what an archer may encounter while hunting.  The carp and crocodile are set on water, turkeys and baboons are placed in trees, and skunks and rabbits are set on logs.  Archers will shoot out of four different tower stands and occasionally turkey blinds.   There are moving targets, such as a bear climbing a tree, a running deer or bear, and a walking fox or bobcat.  In addition, there are string targets set for the archer to stalk his or her prey.   Targets are set from 5 to 50 yards with three different yardage stakes available. Fish Boil Date:  Thursday, August 22, 2019 Location:  Northwoods Archers’ Clubhouse On this night, fellow archers get together to celebrate the end of summer league and beginning of archery season.  We will draw our raffle prizes on this night, and sample Eric’s Famous Fish Boil.  This is the second to last night of summer archery league shooting as league ends on Thursday, September 5.  We invite everyone to attend!  We will begin serving after 6:00 p.m.  Don’t miss our annual fall raffle – the winner will be drawn at this event!
