YOUTH INFORMATION Northwoods Archers’ board members realize our youth are the next generation of archers.  We encourage family members, including youth and women, to come out on league night.  You don’t have to hunt to enjoy archery.  You don’t have to shoot to enjoy our clubhouse and course.  We want families to spend time together and enjoy Mother Nature’s fine scenery. We have bows, arrows and releases available for youth and women who want to try shooting before purchasing any equipment.  There are club members available to help them get set up and offer shooting tips.  This is a great way for beginners to get used to shooting and understand archery before purchasing their own equipment.  Kids 12 and under shoot for free, and every time they come out and shoot, their name is entered into a drawing.  At the end of the year, we pick one lucky winner for a new youth bow!  Youth 13 to 17 shoot summer league for half price. Northwoods Archers’ club members have an archery booth set up at the Taylor County Fairgrounds during the Youth Expo.  This is a great way to promote archery for 5th and 6th graders in the surrounding community.  At the expo, they learn archery basics and have the opportunity to test their skills at shooting arrows at various targets with volunteers assisting them and providing tips.  We also have all participants enter their name in a drawing and give away a youth bow to one individual. Northwoods Archers awards three scholarships every year to applicants.  This is offered to high school seniors who plan on attending college, trade school, or technical degree.  We have applicant information available in April, and we award winners during our May meeting.
